... and damn I hate cliffhangers. But I'm gonna watch it again and cannot wait until Two Towers comes out.
Oh yeah, and I still need to read the books too.

dwim!!!!!my dear friend, DO!! *does a happy dance*
glad you have joined that particular circle of the damned. I watched that over again just the other night with my brother who had seen it once when it first came out and didn't remember it anymore. I think he was high when he saw it the first time. But that is neither here nore there.

Don't know when _Two Towers_ is due out, but I can tell you it's even better than _Fellowship_. Wait 'til you see the Battle of Helm's Deep with those aerial shots of the orcs storming the fortress. Whoever programmed that sequence deserves a friggin' Oscar the detail is so amazing. If you can, try to watch it on HDTV or something. Every orc is doing something different.
take care

tyle, I think I'll be going after the extended version of the movie. So i can feel like I'm watching something for the first time, or at least lie about it.
thanks.

*then dwim notices there's a camera in the corner of a ceiling*

For the helm's deep scene, where the very few brave good guys are holding out over the floods and floods of bad guys - they made a brand new computer system to film that. That's how they got so much detail into each orc and human. What's really funny is the thing is essentially an AI program, right? So when they first keyed in all the information and played the scene, the defenders all ran away. They actually had to over ride the AI's common sense to force the humans to stay because the computer insisted the only course of action given the odds was to retreat, and fast.
Just a little geek tidbit.

My girlfriend has a strange attitude to films: she won't watch sequels, and she won't watch films deliberately set up to be continued in a sequel. She was very pissed off at the end of Fellowship... and now she says she won't watch Two Towers. I'll have to watch it when she's not around, I guess.
She has the same attitude to books, too. She bought "Charlie and the great glass elevator", not knowing it was a sequel, and won't read it.

I'm sure they're going to do the same thing with Two Towers that they did with Fellowship. Put out a 2 disk DVD set, then 4 months later put out the super duper 4 disk DVD set.
Me personally. I'm waiting for the inevitable super duper box set with all 3 movies.
